Things Dogs Are Grateful For
November 15, 2023

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! While food and football may be big parts of many modern celebrations, it’s important to remember the deeper meaning of the autumn holiday: gratitude. We’re definitely very thankful for our canine companions, and the love, friendship, and companionship they offer. As it turns out, Fido also has a list of things he’s grateful for. A Bellevue, WA vet lists some of them in this article.

Bacon

If we know one thing about our canine friends, it’s that they have very healthy appetites. (We love food, too!) There’s nothing wrong with giving Fido special treats. It brightens his day, gets that tail going, and is great for both bonding and rewarding good behavior. Just be sure to stick with safe options. Ask your vet for more information.

Comfy Beds

A good bed is definitely one of those little luxuries that can make a huge difference in your quality of sleep, which in turn affects your quality of life. That’s true for dogs, too! Fido won’t be very comfortable on a thin mattress. Make sure he has a good bed.

Car Rides

Many of our canine pals are quite adventurous, and absolutely love going on rides with their humans. Take Fido somewhere new over the holiday weekend!

Veterinary Care

It may be easy to joke that our patients are definitely not grateful for us, but that isn’t actually accurate. Fido may rather go for a walk or play a game of Fetch than visit us, but he’ll be much healthier with proper care. That in turn also means he’ll both look and feel better.

Toys

Toys serve several purposes for our furry friends. They keep Fido occupied and out of trouble, entertain him, keep him active, give him a chance to burn off some energy, and let him indulge his inner wolf. Carve out time to play with your cute pet every day.

Belly Rubs

It’s always cute when Fido closes his eyes in bliss as someone scratches his ears or rubs his belly. Love and affection are crucial for both people and pets!

You

At the end of the day, Man’s Best Friend really just wants to spend as much time as possible with his favorite human: you. Dogs are truly extraordinary in their love and devotion. Carve out some quality time with your furry friend this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving! Please contact us for all of your pet’s care needs. As your Bellevue, WA animal clinic, we’re here for you.
